Organisations and businesses in Leicester are invited to commit to the 10 actions below to make a real contribution to the Environment Strategy’s vision and aims .
1. Switch to a green (renewable) electricity tariff
2. Ensure computers power down when not in use.
3. Sign up to an intelligent metering service (for energy and water).
4. Buy local and environmentally friendly goods.
5. Join the Leicestershire Business Resource Efficiency Club.
6. Have an environmental policy and set up an ‘Environmental Management System’.
7. Produce and implement a travel plan to minimise the environmental impacts of your transport requirement.
8. Recycle office waste paper (and other wastes).
9. Install nest boxes / bat boxes on your building.
10. Allow staff one day per year off to volunteer to help the environment - this could incorporate a team building session.
