Climate Change Strategy

Leicester is one of the first UK cities to seriously address the threat of climate change. In 2003, the Leicester Environment Partnership helped launch the City of Leicester Climate Change Strategy which seeks to reduce the city's emissions of greenhouse gases and raise local awareness of the issue and of the need to prepare for inevitable climate change in the future.

An ongoing campaign to engage the Leicester community in action to reduce carbon dioxide emissions (the major cause of climate change) is underway. See Climate Change.
