The second annual Leicester Environment Partnership (LEP) event, entitled 'Our Environment, Our Future', was held on 14th March 2006 at the New Walk museum, Leicester. The Leicester Green Life Awards ceremony formed part of the event. Over 50 applications were received for the awards, demonstrating the commitment to the environment shown by a wide variety of people and organisations around Leicester. The LEP was extremely encouraged by the high standard of the applications and judging was difficult. However, 11 category winners and one overall winner were eventually agreed upon:

The Overall Winner was Environ's Bikes 4 All project which has gone from strength to strength, saving over 2000 bikes from landfill, refurbishing them and putting them back into use through donations and sales. Recently it has focused on providing training and qualifications for excluded and hard to reach groups. The project makes cycling more accessible for everyone and the training provides a sense of achievement and inclusion.
